Method

Numbers come from 226 different one-to-one chats uploaded to Crush Analyzer for analysis, about 1,124,000+ messages in total. The typical chat has 1,719 messages over 107 active days (23.2 messages per active day).

"Person with the crush" is whoever uploaded the chat; "the crush" is the other person. Reply time is the gap before a message that answers the other person, counting only replies within 24 hours, averaged per chat. We report medians of the per-chat values, so a few very long chats do not dominate.

Privacy: we use only numbers already computed for each report, never message text, names or words. Every figure covers at least 20 chats, an emoji is listed only if it appears in at least 5 different chats, duplicate uploads and our own test chats are excluded, and the message total is rounded down. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.

Questions

How fast does a crush usually reply to texts?+

Across 226 anonymised crush chats, the typical (median) average reply time of the crush is 21 min, counting replies sent within 24 hours. The person with the crush replies in 18 min. A slower reply on its own says little: 55% of crushes reply more slowly than the person who likes them.

Is it bad if I text more than my crush?+

It is normal. In 56% of chats the person with the crush sends more messages, and the typical split is 51% to 49%. A big, lasting gap is worth noticing; a small one is not a warning sign.

What time of day do people text their crush the most?+

Messages peak around 10 pm, and 22.4% are sent between 10 pm and 2 am. Thursday is the busiest day of the week (16.8% of messages) and Tuesday the quietest (13.0%).

Longer than most people think. In the typical crush chat the longest silence is 26 days, and 81% of chats have a gap of a week or more, yet those chats kept going afterwards. The typical longest run of texting every day is 12 days.

Is it normal for texting with a crush to slow down?+

Some slowdown happens, but a real fade is the exception: only 20% of crush chats (running 60+ days) send less than half as many messages in their last month as in their first. The typical chat is 55% busier in its last month than in its first.

What are the chances my crush likes me back?+

In 58 full Crush Analyzer reports, the AI's median estimate that the crush likes the person back was 25%, and it answered "yes" in 29% of cases. 22% of chats scored 75% or higher. This is an AI read of texting patterns made for reflection, not a measure of anyone's feelings.

Where does this data come from?+

From 226 different chats uploaded to Crush Analyzer (1,124,000+ messages). We only use numbers already computed for each report (counts, times, lengths), never message text, names or words. Each figure covers at least 20 chats, emojis are listed only if they appear in at least 5 chats, and duplicate uploads and our own test chats are left out. Our Terms and Privacy Policy describe this use of anonymised data.
