Free Relationship Text Analyzer: who texts more, who replies faster

Paste a chat and get the numbers in seconds: message balance, reply speed, who starts the conversation, double texts, questions and emoji, compared with 226 real chats.

Your chat never leaves your browser. Everything is counted on this page; nothing is uploaded, saved or sent to any server.

How it works

The tool reads your chat line by line, finds the two people who write the most, and counts what each of them did: messages, words, questions, emoji, how long replies take and who opens the conversation after a quiet spell. You choose which of the two is you, and the numbers flip to your point of view.

Everything runs in your browser. Your chat is not uploaded, stored or shared, and there is nothing to sign up for.

What the numbers mean

Message share
Who writes more. Around 50/50 is balanced; a big gap means one person is carrying the conversation.
Median reply time
The middle reply time, so one forgotten message does not skew it. Only replies within 24 hours count.
Starts conversations
Who sends the first message after a pause of 6 hours or more. Whoever always starts is doing the reaching out.
Double texts
Sending another message 30 minutes or more after your last one without an answer in between.
Questions and emoji
Questions show curiosity about the other person. Emoji per message is a rough warmth gauge, nothing more.

For context, in 226 real chats on CrushAnalyzer the median person sends 51% of the messages and replies in 17.9 min; the person they text replies in 20.5 min. See all of it on the texting statistics page.

How to export your chat

In WhatsApp, open the chat, tap the contact name, choose Export chat and pick Without media. You get a .txt file (on iPhone it comes inside a zip: unzip it first). Open it, copy everything and paste it above, or choose the .txt file directly.

Instagram and Telegram steps are in the export guides. This free tool reads text exports; screenshots cannot be read.

Questions

Is my chat uploaded anywhere?+

No. The analysis runs entirely in your browser. The text you paste or the file you choose is never sent to a server, stored or shared. Closing or reloading the page clears it.

What is a normal texting balance?+

In 226 real chats analysed on CrushAnalyzer, the median person with a crush sends 51% of the messages, and in 56% of chats they send more than the other person. A split between about 40/60 and 60/40 is common.

How fast do people usually reply?+

In the same data the median reply takes 17.9 min for the person with the crush and 20.5 min for the crush. Replies slower than 24 hours are not counted as replies.

Does a slow reply mean they are not interested?+

Not by itself. Work, sleep, time zones and texting habits all change reply speed. Look at the pattern over weeks, not one message, and at whether they also ask questions and start conversations.

Which chat formats work?+

WhatsApp exports from iPhone and Android (including 12-hour AM/PM times), and plain lines like "Name: message". Timestamps are needed for reply times, conversation starters and double texts. At least 20 messages are required.
