What is a dry texter?+
A dry texter is someone whose messages are short and low-effort: one-word answers, few questions back, little emotion and rarely starting a conversation. It describes how someone texts, not who they are: some people simply prefer calls or hate typing.
Does dry texting mean they are not interested?+
Not necessarily. Dry texting can mean disinterest, but it is also a common style (busy people, people who dislike texting, people who are shy or tired). Look at the pattern over weeks and whether they are warmer in person or on calls. The full Crush Analysis reads the actual messages for interest signals, which counts alone cannot show.
How do I fix dry texting?+
Ask open questions instead of yes/no ones, share one specific detail instead of 'good' or 'ok', and add a little warmth (an emoji, an exclamation mark). If you are texting a dry texter, try a call or a plan instead of more small talk, and do not chase with many messages.
How is the Dry Score calculated?+
Each person gets five parts scaled from engaged (0) to dry (100) and weighted: average message length 30%, share of one-word or very short replies 25%, questions asked per 100 messages 20%, expressive messages (emoji, exclamation marks, haha, lol) 15%, and share of conversation starts 10%. Without timestamps the starts part is skipped and the rest are rescaled. 0-24 is an engaged texter, 25-49 a bit low-effort, 50-74 a dry texter, 75-100 desert-level dry. It is a for-fun score, not a verdict on anyone.
